˙Housing Reconstruction:
Sixty two homes in Zheng-Xing Village, Jinfong Township, Taitung County, began construction on August 21. Hsieh Architect & Associates are leading the building effort with labor provided by beneficiaries from Jia Lan Village who are working under a cash for work scheme. Those who will move into the new homes are working with great expectation. They have named their new community “88 Jia Lan Mountainous Village” to show their gratitude for the support and care from across Taiwan.
World Vision broke ground for 34 homes on September 16 in De-Qin Section, Taimali Township, Taitung County.
˙Shelter service:
World Vision has been serving 1,695 people in Kaohsiung, Pintung and Taitung counties who live in nine shelter camps operated by government authorities.
At these shelters, World Vision is providing comprehensive support for displaced children and families including information service on how to access resources from government or other organizations, monitoring the living condition of shelter residents and ensuring their basic needs are met, child care, management and distribution of goods, and emotion and spiritual support. In addition, World Vision has planned entertaining activities to help lift the spirits of shelter residents.

Kaohsiung: Ren-Mei Military Camp in Niaosong Township, Chinese Army Engineer School in Yenchao Township
Pintung: Long-Quan Military Camp in Neipu Township, Radio Taiwan International Changzhi Station in Changjhih Township, Ai-Liao Military Camp in Linluo Township
Taitung:Jie Da Primary School in Zheng-Xing Village, Jinfong Township, KA A RU WANG Tribal Cultural Center in Jia Lan Village, Jinfong Township, Jinlun Neighborhood 14 Activity Center in Taimali Township, Da Niao Activity Center in Dawu Township
•Care for the affected children and visit their homes:
World Vision social workers are regularly visiting sponsored children in the affected areas and assessing the needs of children who are not currently in World Vision programs.
Moreover, we have been commissioned by Chiayi County government to visit over 400 affected families to assess their needs.
